First Semester Experience

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that our first semester is already coming to a close!  This semester has flown by.  I feel like I have grown so much as a nursing student within these past few months. I have experienced and gained so much knowledge in the hospital, classroom, and stimulation lab.  The stress, intense workload, and hectic schedule was worth it all in the end.  I can remember how nervous I was for my first day of clinical, I  felt so lost and out of place.  As time went on in the hospital I began to feel more comfortable,  I was able to provide more assistance towards the end to the patients and the staff.   I have grown so much as an individual this semester.   Now I am able to reflect on everything I have learned, looking back on old tests and quizzes it is so strange looking at the material I struggled with only a few months ago. I have acquired so much information that I am able to carry on in my nursing career.  This semester I have built a foundation and will build upon this knowledge every semester.  I am so excited to enter my second semester and learn about more specific and focused information.  I feel so blessed to have such a great first semester.  Our cohort is amazing and  I am so excited to grow as nurses with each individual.  I am excited for Christmas break; it's a time for us to unwind, spend time with our families, and prepare once again for another hectic semester of nursing school.
